Environment
-The environment is on everyone's mind these days. We recycle! All shipping boxes received along with newspapers and magazines are taken home and added to our paper recycling every other week. -We use both sides of our 'computer' paper - i.e. when an extra receipt prints, we use it as a 'draft' paper when typing/formatting the newsletter or other correspondence. We recycle plastic bottles, cans and our printer's inkjet cartridges. -Our newsletter is no longer mailed, we have switched to an e-mail format. -We now have canvas tote bags, which you would use just as you do those you purchase at supermarkets. When you shop, bring in the canvas tote and we will 'bag' purchases in the tote instead of a paper bag. These bags are only $2.50! A $1 from the sale of each canvas tote will be donated to our Relay for Life Team - Mary Ann's Dance and More - 'The Cottage Street Rebels.' -We, upon your request, do not print a receipt for your purchases, with the exception of a debit/credit card purchase (we have to have a hard copy of your signature for the sale). All purchase histories are in our computer database and easily accessible for returns/exchanges or questions. -In addition, we have installed energy efficient lights in the store as well as outside.

Current Campaign
February 16th at 12noon ~ Dove Self-Esteem Workshop (rescheduled from January). The Dove Real Beauty Workshops for Girls are fun, educational and interactive sessions for young girls ages 8-12 and their adult female mentors: mothers, relatives, friends ~ anyone interested in starting a dialogue on beauty and self-image with a member of the next generation. By attending these workshops, you'll learn how society creates "ideal" images of beauty and how to engage young girls in a healthy dialogue about self-esteem. February 16th at 3pm ~ Proper Bun Making Clinic. This clinic will focus on proper hair bun-making techniques with local hairstylist, Julie St. Laurence of the Beauty Nook. Just in time for competition season!
