Position Overview: The Development and Marketing Internship is a vital role with The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts. This position will be responsible for assistance in executing special events, database management, marketing and communications, fundraising and social networking.

General Responsibilities: * Assist in marketing, creating and executing special events * Assist in the management of volunteer and donor databases * Assist in volunteer management related to special events * Assist in social media such as Twitter and Facebook * Create and develop additional third party events with the guidance of the Development and Marketing Manager * Actively recruit elementary, secondary and higher education groups to hold food drives and fundraisers * Organize and schedule corporate and school tours of The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts * General office work as needed

Preferred Qualifications: * Candidate should be working towards a degree in communications, public relations, non-profit management, marketing, social work or other related field * Must be organized, well-spoken, professional and punctual * Must have attention to detail * Experience in marketing and social networking a plus * Candidates must be available Monday-Friday for 10-15 hours a week, plus some weekend work
