Description

Position Overview: The Hunger Education Internship is a critical new role at The Food Bank of Western Mass. This position will be responsible for developing and marketing curriculum materials and education activities on food insecurity for use by teachers and group leaders working with youth ages 5-18.
General Responsibilities: * Update the YAH! Youth Against Hunger Education curriculum * Assist in the development of age-appropriate activities for teachers to use in classrooms and create needed materials * Work closely with the Education Coordinator to recruit groups to play and provide feedback on ‘Food for Today’ education activity * Assist with in-office responsibilities as needed
Preferred Qualifications: * Candidate should be committed to social justice and food access for all residents of Western Massachusetts. * Must be organized, punctual and comfortable with public speaking * Must have attention to detail * Teaching , leadership and curriculum planning experience a plus * Creative thinking, passion and enthusiasm a must * Candidates must be available Monday-Friday for 10-15 hours a week, plus some weekend work * Candidates must be able to travel to and from The Food Bank warehouse and offices in Hatfield.
